DIY - Photo Blocks {a guest post}

About a month ago {wow, was it that long ago?!} I was asked to write a guest post for PocketChange Shopping Blog.  Have you seen it?  I was impressed by how many departments the site housed!  The site is filled with articles and how-tos relating to home, fashion, pets, babies, health...  But a very nice lady asked if I wouldn't mind writing about an idea for photo display.

Yay!  I have made it a goal of mine for the last ten years or so {and even more importantly since Twila was born} to keep up with not just taking photos but printing out photos.  Why take them if I am going to forget about them the second the shutter closes, you know?

In my last house I struggled with how to display photos without making the walls seemed crammed.  In our new house I have plenty of wall space but have struggled with how to present images so as to stand out and make a presentation.  In both cases my solution has been photo blocks.  I find they are also a nice way to keep certain ideas fresh.  In my studio, for example, I print out all the images that I like, all the images I might like to expand upon or, honestly, don't think they'd look as good in the rest of the house.  But like I said, I'm not willing to forget about them.  Most of the images in my studio are from my phone and I kind of like that it seems like a casual way to present casual images...plus, they're small enough blocks for a lower resolution image.  They are easy and cheap to switch out and easy to add onto without looking odd.  I'm going to fill the entire wall of this studio one day...not in a rush to do it but excited nonetheless!

I'd love for you to see the tutorial!
