I took the opportunity to pick up a collection I have wondered about, Dark Shadows, the comic. It's a collection of the comics released in the early 70s. I like it...not too heavy in the plot department but the artwork is FANTASTIC! The other thing I like about these old comics is how the plot is laid out. There is a lot implied with the artwork rather than with words. And the words that are chosen are precise, specific. Sometimes just a word like, "Ooooo" can sum up a whole page of haunting. {It's really all a good ghost needs, right??}
I wonder if my fondness for the ellipses mark came from all of my comic book reading. Story telling {in comics} was different in the early 70s...not better or worse, just different. The whole experience of reading a comic, for me, is like sitting down to listen to an entire record. It's a time of meditation where nothing comes into mind except what's being fed to me. It's a special thing.

I'll have to check some out. I think they would be great graphics to help me improve drawing people!
Oh yeah that is pretty cool.
