2011 Recap

I had so much fun re-capping the year off with Ashley's Memories,Dreams, and Reflections that I thought I would give it a go again this year.  Warning:  Long post and somewhat mushy.

Still Laughing

My daughters first cell phone shots.  These were taken while house hunting.  There were so many houses we visited and so many stories that made us laugh.  I have really fond memories of searching for our new home...ones that will keep making us smile and laugh for years to come. {A pre-apology for the amount of times I may mention the house in this post.  We got it yesterday, it's been almost two years of looking, and well, I'm excited.}

Friends

John and Leslie, Twila's godparents, we love them.  Our favorite nights are with them, dining and dancing.

I Was Inspired

My friend John and I started doing some collaborations for the ACoLab.  I never would have created anything I made with him if it weren't for his music and vice versa.  The themes in the ACoLab continue to push me in new directions and I am really grateful for those who contribute and encourage even more inspiration.

A Day in My Life

It's really all about spending time with my daughter, priority number one.  This year has been a great journey in priorities and thinking about what's really important, what really matters.  Although I do relish a good nap time time when I can work on projects.  Here we are having tea time and a cookie with the one and only, Cookie Monster.

Autumn Harvest

All Smiles, Family or Home, Celebrate! and Hopes and Dreams

Here's a shot I posted the other day.  It was taken right before we went to close on a new home.  The house is exciting but it also feels like we are about to start a whole new life together.  Life feels good right now and my hope and dream is that it just continues to feel like this.


I'm so excited I can barely stand it! 

I haven't posted any photos of the house yet but look at this-a studio to call my own!  I'm in Heaven.

Let's Do it Again

I decided that I was tired of hearing myself talk about how I wanted to try selling my art at the downtown farmer's market.  This year I did it and loved every second.  It was a great place to not only share my work and make some money but also to talk to like-minded people about art and photography.  It is one of the best things I have done this year and I look forward to doing it again. 

 I Miss You 

This totally reveals more about myself than I feel comfortable with but it really sums up who I miss and why.  My family lives way too far away from me - my mom in California, my aunt in Chile.  I miss them everyday but Oovoo really helps us stay in touch, laugh, and be silly together. 

Beautiful

I love this image.  The setting is beautiful too but in black in white the story seems to take on a different feel...it's more about her than it is the place.  I know, I'm her mom.  Even though I will always think she is beautiful, in this setting, with the people we were with... the whole memory, for me, is the exact definition of beautiful.

Dress Up 

It was her first real Halloween this year.  I still think it was exciting for her because everyone told her how excited she should be.  But, she loved trick or treating and even more, she loved her rocket costume.  She wore it for weeks...even while relaxing at home.

Holidays

I know it doesn't spell out that holiday feeling...or what is at the core of the holiday... but when Twila entered the living room on Christmas morning to see Diego and Baby Jaguar waiting for her it was the BEST.  This shot is right after the shot of her kissing Diego and Baby Jaguar and before the shot of her telling them each how much she loves them.  Yeah, I know, it's an item that we were suckered into and it's commercialism at its best, but it's so worth it to see her this excited.

My favorite

A new series and so maybe that's why I am so excited by it but there's something I love about this image.

Thanks to Ashley for the prompts and if you want to play along you can do so here.  Thanks to all of you bloggers who continue to inspire.  I learned a lot from you this year including how to use textures and actions.  Photography will never be the same for me and for that I THANK YOU! Here's wishing you a very happy new year filled with lots of luck, love, and laughs...it sounds corny but really, what more does one need??  Don't say I didn't warn you about the potential mushiness of this post.
