ACoLab #19

ACoLab # 19's inspiration was Spring.  When I thought about what to create I wanted to try and push myself to make something that wasn't based on the season of Spring.  (Although, it was tempting.)  So I experimented making a Jack-in-the-box using the image to the right.  I thought it fitting to use this particular image because I took it on one of the first lovely days of Spring.  So I first made the image black and white and added the color layer of the original shot and kicked up the saturation a bit.  When I brought the layers together to make the box I deleted the center lines to make them join up a bit better.  I did add a spring in the center of the box and put some flowers on the end instead of a creepy doll or clown but in the end liked the simple version best.  So I gave it the spring-y title "Boing!  Boing!" and called it a day.  It may be a stretch but what makes the ACoLab so much fun for me is the variety and that one person's approach to the same inspiration could make no sense whatsoever or could be something you never thought of.  What is so amazing to me is that we never create the exact same thing even with the same idea in mind...I love that.

Check out the other submissions here.  As always, it's so great to see the variety of things that different people create when given the same inspiration, very inspirational in itself.  The next round of the ACoLab, due on May 20th, is Outside Your Door.  Should you like to participate please do!  You can find out more here.

If I ever get my act together I'm going to link up to this. I've wanted to for a while and just can't seem to find time to put something together. This is awesome, Anika!

I always enjoy reading about the process behind someone's work. It adds so much more to the piece at the end. When I was growing-up my family had a pet rabbit called "Boing" - named on my youngest sister's suggestion :)
