This morning when I was thinking about Touch Up Tuesday I thought I would attempt my first layer mask.
First, I tried to minimize my shadow in the foreground. (I knew it was there and don't know why I didn't do anything about it when I shot the picture. Maybe I was wanting to make more editing for myself!) I did this using the clone and also the dodge tool. I adjusted the contrast and brightness a bit, added some textures and then used the layer mask I found via Shadowhouse Creations. (Love that place.)
This is what I ended up with. I think I like using layer masks...although I still want to work with them a bit more to understand all these new buttons and options I am using for the first time. So many possibilities!

Love it! I'm still trying to figure out what layer masks are, after looking at your photo I think I need to start studying.
Excellent job! I had to look over both of the photos multiple times. I thought they were different shots. :)
It's interesting. At first I didn't know what it is :)))
That's a really awesome shot. love the point of view.
Gorgeous edit!!!! Thank you for your kind words!
Fabulous edit. Love the lighting.
Nice work! Really thoughtful edit. Once you get the hang of layer masks, you'll use them all the time.
Oh my goodness - I really love this.
I love your edit. You did a fabulous job.
What a great touch up! What a great idea to trade a photo for a photo, never done that...only I'm just a beginner...
