I just put up the POE (Photographers of Etsy) post for this month. If you are just now hearing about the Mind's Eye post let me tell you a bit about it. I write once a month on one of my favorite topics - Abstract and Manipulated photography. I feel lucky to be able to contribute to a site with so many talented photographers, writers, and creative people. I gotta be honest and admit that it's been since a bit before my 6 month anniversary (over a month, eek!) that I have gone onto Etsy to do any work for my shop. I think I just needed a little break as it is A LOT of work to do it up right...A LOT of work. (Props to those of you who do all these challenges, enjoy life, and have time to work on Etsy...and even go to work and run a family! Whew!!) While on break from Etsy, I got into these photo challenges and the 365 Project and well, things just started to go in another happy direction. I am still trying to find balance for all the things I love to do. Anyhoooo, this month's Mind's Eye post is a Halloween edition! There are some beautiful images worth a look see. Should you like to read the article or see the photos please click here.I usually write about the topic posted on the POE blog here on this blog...a little more casual and ramble-y. However this month is pretty straight forward - Halloween themed. So I thought I would use this spooky photo as an opportunity to link up to Paper Heart's Touch Up Tuesday challenge. See? Balance...
This is the before image, SOOC.
...and this is the after. I thought about making it darker, spookier, maybe doing it in sepia with some aging. But, then I decided to go this route and hold back a bit. I think I like that it's this way so that the subject can create the mood too. Plus, I love these textures. I used textures in Photoshop and did some dodging on the building too to re-enforce the highlights.
Here are a few links to past POE posts should you care to take a gander.

great shot! I love how the feeling changed. I have just loaded the shots from old gray onto my computer, so I will send you some of mine to compare. But I love how you changed the colors/tones of the picture.
This is a great shot. I just spent a lovely couple of minutes strolling through Etsy photography blog. Good inspiration and writing over there, thanks for pushing me in that direction.
